This concept was developed for Kevin Riley and Leslie Carrera, a couple residing near Ithaca NY. He, a master stonemason for over 50 years, renowned for his bluestone walls and buildings. She, a successful entrepreneur , championing the arts, the environment, and social issues.
The site for the house is a grassy field, surrounded on three sides by lush forest. The land fronts a quiet country road, with a few hundred feet of the masons' blue stone wall on either side. The property is the staging area for his materials and equipment.

The concept is a series of horizontal stone walls at varying heights and lengths, juxtaposing each other. In between those walls are the home's living spaces, not seen from the front of the house. From the Road it looks like one continuous wall with interruptions where another wall sets further back.The roof is planted with the local wild grasses, to give the walls an appearance of rising from the earth. Inside the house is an open plan with the bedroom suites on each end. The back of the house faces the woods with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors. Two inner courtyards interrupt the interior space, with indoor/outdoor fireplace. Radiant polished concrete floors,warm the spaces, inside and out. repurposed local hardwood timbers and decking are used for the ceiling to offset the amount of hard surfaces of stone throughout the structure.
Outside of the kitchen,dining, and living area, an elevated stone pool floats above the stone patio. The Master suite is reached by a small glassed in hall off the kitchen, that descends down into the earth three feet. This gives the inhabitants the feeling of being within the tall grasses of the field behind the house.
El concepto consiste en una serie de muros de piedra horizontales de diferentes alturas y longitudes, yuxtapuestos entre sí. Entre esos muros se encuentran los espacios habitables de la casa, no visibles desde el frente de la misma. Desde la carretera parece un muro continuo con interrupciones donde otro muro se sitúa más atrás. El techo está cubierto con hierba silvestre local, para dar a los muros la apariencia de emerger de la tierra. Dentro de la casa hay un plano abierto con suites de dormitorio en cada extremo. La parte trasera de la casa da hacia el bosque con puertas corredizas de vidrio de piso a techo. Dos patios interiores interrumpen el espacio interior, con chimenea interior/exterior. Los suelos de concreto pulido radiante calientan los espacios, dentro y fuera. Se utilizan maderas duras locales reutilizadas y tarimas para el techo para contrarrestar la cantidad de superficies duras de piedra en toda la estructura.
Fuera de la cocina, comedor y sala de estar, una piscina de piedra elevada flota sobre el patio de piedra. La suite principal se alcanza a través de un pequeño pasillo acristalado desde la cocina, que desciende tres pies hacia la tierra. Esto brinda a los habitantes la sensación de estar entre las altas hierbas del campo detrás de la casa.
